LPG or liquid petroleum gas is a most common domestic fuel. All households in the UK use it. Now, the need of the UK households for liquid petroleum gas is getting squeezed due to the galloping prices of fuels. Consequently, the UK citizens are at the mercy of an unregulated industry.

As per a report from the National Energy Action, an average UK household pays an annual amount of £400 for energy consumption. There has been a rise in the average price of refined fuels like oil and gas by nearly 40%, while only 10% is the increase in the price of crude oils.

In accordance with the Consumer Focus, fuel prices vary all over the UK. Some suppliers charge 50p for a litre whereas £2 a litre is charged by others. Consumption of 2,300 litres of oil round the year by an average UK household costs anything in the range from £1,150 to £4,600 a year. A negative impact of the overpriced oil industry has fallen on the aged and retired Britons. They are grappling with how to meet the increased fuel expenses. The picture may be dark for them but not for the retired homeowners in the UK. They need not be concerned about the rising prices of heating oil. It is mainly because of equity release schemes UK that help the homeowners fund their daily needs with cash from the equity value of their residential properties.
